If you don’t consider yourself technically savvy, you might sway from adding new icons such as Page Rank to your website because you don’t have all day to figure it out.
The good news is Page Rank is easy to install and will take you less than five minutes.
What is Page Rank?
Most web pages and blogs have a page ranking; your page is given a number from 0-10 corresponding to the amount of back links you have; the amount of people connecting to you from another website. This shows folks how involved you are in the networking community. With the Page Rank icon, you can visit other websites and find out how the page ranks—for example, you can go to various online college courses sites and find out how they rank in the online community scenario.
Setting up Page Rank:
1. Go to prchecker.info and type in your URL in one of the three boxes provided at the bottom of the screen. You have three style and size options.
2. Click “Get It” to the right of your entered URL.
3. You will see an Anti-bot Box code box. Type into the box the letters and numbers listed there. Click, “Generate Now.” The next screen will show you your website’s current Page Rank status, and will also show you how to finish the process.
If your score is lower than five and you want to increase your number, there are certain critical steps you can take including submitting your site name to search engine directories, writing articles for other websites with a link back to your website and joining a forum.
Learning your page rank is key to getting the readers you want.
